What Softness Teaches Us
Reflections & Insights from Recharge Room: June - A Soft Space for the Overstimulated
Tonight in the Recharge Room: Soft Spaces for the Overstimulated, we slowed down — together.
We talked about overstimulation and how often our bodies default to "freeze" when the world demands too much, too fast. We explored what it means to not push through, and instead begin to soften into awareness, rest, and agency.
We named the tension between the mind and the body.
We breathed. We noticed. We created space.
And we reminded ourselves (and each other) that regulation doesn't always look like calm — sometimes, it looks like permission.
Here’s what softness taught me this time:
That I don’t have to earn rest with productivity.
That stillness isn’t always quiet — sometimes it hums.
That connection — even virtual, even brief — can gently reroute a day that felt unmanageable.
That letting yourself be held (in community, in rhythm, in breath) is a skill. A sacred one.
If this experience moved something in you, I’d love to stay connected.

Our next Recharge Room is happening Monday, July 21st at 5 PM PT.
We'll be exploring new nervous system tools, collective grounding, and compassionate witnessing — all through a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming lens.
Thank you again for being here. Softness isn’t always easy to choose — but it’s always worth honoring.
With care,
Lauren
